Meet Chef Maria Winters
I grew up in Kinshasa (DRC), France and in Finland. As I have traveled and lived around the world (Yemen, Afghanistan, London) I have always kept the family recipes cooking wherever I go! Now that I am settled in LA, I have started to share Pili Pili de Congo (the staple spicy condiment of The Congo, unlike any other African sauce of the same name) with friends and family.
I quickly realized in order to enjoy my Pili Pili de Congo, I needed to offer Congolese dishes to complete flavors from Congo and the enthusiastic energy from consumers inspired me to create Pili Pili de Congo Kitchen.
Congolese cuisine is a story you taste. It's a reminder that even in new places, we can carry the flavors and feelings of home with us. My hope is that every bite brings comfort, curiosity, and connection to your table.
